The present work has been done with an objective to analyze the crude drug parametrs responsible for tenable antioxidant effect of leaf, stem and root of Glycosmis pentaphylla (Retz.) DC. Fresh leaf, stem and root of Glycosmis pentaphylla were extracted with ethanol (EEGPle, EEGPst, EEGPro). The antioxidant profiling was done through different methods like 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging assay, 2,2-azino-bis-3-ethyl benzothiazoline acid (ABTS) free radical scavenging assay and nitric oxide (NO) free radical scavenging assay. Crude drug parameters were focussed mainly on micrometric properties so as to determine the flow properties when consumed for medicinal purposes. A significant antioxidant activity was revealed by the EEGPle [EC50: (29.04±0.008) µg/mL], compared to EEGPst and EEGPro in DPPH assay. The ranking order for ABTS was EEGPle > EEGPst > EEGPro. The EC50 value of NO of the EEGPle, EEGPst and EEGPro were (263.14±0.05) µg/mL, (312.62±0.07) µg/mL and (384.62±0.006)µg/mL respectively. Quantity of TFC and TPC were highest in EEGPle (112.96±3.89 mg QRE/g and 96.6±1.08 mg GAE/g extract) rather than EEGPst and EEGPro...

Bi-layer tablets are developed to get immediate and sustained delivery of various drugs that have pre-defined release. In the past few decades, development in a combination of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) in a single fixed dosage form has increased in the pharmaceutical industry, also promotes patient convenience and compliance. Bi-layer tablet plays a crucial role in the development of controlled release in order to give a successful drug delivery. Bi-layer tablets can be said to be a better option to reduce chemical incompatibilities taking place between Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and to enable the development of various drug release profiles. Bi-layer tablet suits for sequential release of two drugs in combination or to incorporate two incompatible substances in same tablet. The bi-layer tablets are preparing by using different techniques such as OROS® push-pulls Technology, L-OROSTM Technology, EN SO TROL Techno-logy. This review article explains various techniques of bi-layer tablets and why the development and production of quality bi-layer tablets need to be carried out and basic challenges faced during the...

Medicinal plant is the basic and most significant part of the traditional medicinal system. The different plant contains medicinal properties, also known as an herbal plant. Bombax ceiba L plant of Bombacaceae family shows many Pharmacological activities. It is also called as Kate Savar and Semal. It is a native plant of western Africa. It is naturally obtained in Pakistan, India, and Myanmar. Bombax ceiba L. is a big and tall tree with a height of approximately 30m and having a diameter of 58 to78 cm. It grows in a straight direction with having a cylindrical stem and wide base. Bombax ceiba L contains principal constituents that are tannin and glycosides, which are present in part of leaf and stem. The part of the stem shows the presence of some lupeol and b-sitosterol, and the leaf shows the presence of alkaloid. The root bark contains the 3 naphthalene derivatives. Bombax ceiba L shows many pharmacological properties. The stem bark of plant used for the wound. Thorn of a plant...

Natural products are an important source of bioactive compounds and have potential for the development of novel therapeutics. Natural products and their derivatives represent more than 50% of all drugs in clinical use in the world. Herbal plants contain and produce a verity of chemical substances used as a remedy for treating diseases. Anthelmintic and antioxidants have been treated with some medicinal plants or their extract based on folklore medicine. For the research Polygala chainensis and Cleome chelidonii selected based on its availability, high therapeutic value; activity has not been scientifically investigated. Very few pharmacological activities have been reported on whole plant of Polygala chainensis and Cleome chelidonii. The leaves of Cleome chelidonii and Polygala chinensis plants was observed for the phytochemical investigation and pharmacological evaluation. The percentage of yield and phytochemical was observed in methanolic extraction so this extraction was used for pharmacological activity. The extract of Cleome chelidonii and Polygala chinensis plants shown anthelmintic activity. The anthelmintic activity of Polygala chinensis was better than Cleome chelidonii. Significant...

Tinospora cordifolia (T. col.), a plant which has great significance in the Ayurvedic system of medicine, has been tested according to modern medical techniques for numerous therapeutic effects like immunomodulation, reducing tumor cells, purification of blood, reducing fatty lipids from body, reduction of glucose and increasing glucose tolerance in case of diabetes and increasing body weight. T. col has been used even during various rheumatic diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and has shown positive therapeutic effects. T. col. reduces the unwanted lipids. It enhances the humoral immune response. It also cleans out the immune complexes from the body. T. col. acts as an adaptogen. It has been reported to both increase and decrease activities of substances in the body, so as to normalize its functionality. It enhances immunity, but on the other hand, it inhibits autoimmunity. This paper is a review of the findings of the medical benefits of T. col., and combining all the information to propose that this plant may be used in the treatment of another rheumatic...
