Open Access Policy

The International Journal of Pharmacognosy (IJP) is an open access, peer-reviewed international journal published in online and print formats. All published articles are made available on the journal website to support broad dissemination of scientific knowledge in pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, natural products and allied pharmaceutical sciences.

IJP provides open access to published content so that researchers, academicians, students, healthcare professionals and readers can read, download and use the published articles for academic, research and educational purposes, subject to the journal’s copyright and licensing policy.

The journal believes that open access publishing increases the visibility, accessibility and impact of research. IJP is committed to promoting scholarly communication and dissemination of quality research for the advancement of pharmacognosy and natural product research.

Copyright and Licensing Policy

All content published in the International Journal of Pharmacognosy (IJP) is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License (CC BY-NC-SA).

Authors retain copyright of their published work while granting IJP the right of first publication. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript is original and that any copyrighted material, including figures, tables, images or reproduced content, has been used with proper permission and acknowledgement.

Published articles may be used for academic, research and educational purposes in accordance with the applicable Creative Commons license. Any commercial use, unauthorized reproduction, misleading modification or improper use of published content is not permitted without appropriate permission.

IJP expects authors, readers and users of published content to respect intellectual property rights, proper citation practices and ethical use of scholarly material.

Repository / Archiving Policy

The International Journal of Pharmacognosy (IJP) supports open access and wider dissemination of published research. Authors are allowed to deposit versions of their work in institutional repositories, subject repositories, academic platforms or other repositories of their choice.

Authors may share their published articles for academic, research and educational purposes with proper citation to the original publication in IJP. Repository deposit should not misrepresent the published article or violate the journal’s copyright and licensing policy.

IJP encourages authors to maintain transparency and accessibility of scholarly work while preserving the integrity of the published record. The Creative Commons license information is indicated on published articles in HTML and/or PDF formats.

Publication Fees and Charges

The International Journal of Pharmacognosy (IJP) is a peer-reviewed open access journal available in both online and print formats.

There are no submission charges. Authors are not required to pay any fee at the time of manuscript submission. Publication charges are applicable only after acceptance of the manuscript following editorial and peer-review processing.

Publication Charges: Rs. 2500/- per manuscript after acceptance for both online and print versions of the journal.

SPSR members are eligible for a 10% discount on the publication fee.

The publication charges help cover editorial processing, manuscript handling, online hosting, publication management, open access dissemination and print-related publication expenses.

Payment of publication charges does not influence editorial decisions. All manuscripts are evaluated on the basis of originality, scientific merit, ethical compliance, reviewer comments and journal policy.

Waiver Policy

The International Journal of Pharmacognosy (IJP) may provide publication fee waiver, partial support or discount to eligible authors in genuine cases, subject to editorial approval and journal policy.

Waiver or discount requests must be submitted by the corresponding author with proper justification. The request should be made before final publication processing and should clearly explain the reason for seeking support.

SPSR members are eligible for a 10% discount on the publication fee as per the journal policy.

Granting of waiver or discount is not automatic and depends on the merit of the request, availability of journal support and editorial decision. Waiver decisions do not influence peer review or editorial decisions.

All manuscripts, including those for which waiver or discount is requested, are evaluated through the same editorial and peer-review process. Scientific merit, originality and ethical compliance remain the primary criteria for publication.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

The corresponding author may request withdrawal of a submitted manuscript from the International Journal of Pharmacognosy (IJP) for genuine reasons.

If a withdrawal request is made after payment but before publication, a cancellation fee may be deducted from the refunded publication charges as per journal policy.

If the revised manuscript has been received and the galley proof has already been provided to the authors, no refund will be issued, as the article is considered to be in the final stage of publication processing.

Authors are advised to check the journal indexing status, publication requirements and institutional requirements before submitting the manuscript and making payment.

If an article has already been published and is later retracted due to breach of research ethics, publication misconduct or author-related reasons, no refund of publication charges will be provided.

Advertising Policy

The International Journal of Pharmacognosy (IJP) does not publish sponsored articles, promotional content, paid endorsements or commercial advertisements that may influence editorial decisions or peer review.

IJP operates through publication fees, journal subscriptions and support from the Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (SPSR).

Any announcement or informational content displayed by the journal will be clearly identified and will remain independent of editorial decisions, peer review and published scientific content.

This policy supports the journal’s commitment to transparency, editorial independence and ethical scholarly publishing.

Direct Marketing Policy

The International Journal of Pharmacognosy (IJP) follows ethical and professional standards in all direct communication and marketing activities.

The journal may communicate with researchers, academicians, institutions and professionals regarding manuscript submissions, journal updates, published issues, academic announcements or relevant journal information. Such communication is intended to be accurate, transparent, respectful and non-misleading.

IJP does not engage in misleading solicitation, false claims, aggressive promotion or unethical marketing practices. The journal does not authorize any third-party agent or intermediary to guarantee acceptance or fast publication of manuscripts.

Personal information, including names and email addresses, is not sold, shared or distributed to external parties for marketing purposes.

Privacy Statement

The names, email addresses and other personal information provided to the International Journal of Pharmacognosy (IJP) will be used only for the stated purposes of the journal.
