About the Journal
The International Journal of Pharmacognosy (IJP) is an open access, peer-reviewed international journal published monthly in both online and print formats. IJP is an official publication of the Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (SPSR).
The journal is dedicated to publishing high-quality original research articles, review articles, mini-reviews, short communications, case reports, Ethics Forum, Education Forum and Letters to the Editor that contribute significantly to the advancement of scientific knowledge in pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, natural products, traditional medicine and allied pharmaceutical sciences.
IJP aims to provide a platform for researchers, academicians, research scholars, industrial scientists and students to share recent developments, innovative research concepts and scientific findings related to natural products and plant-based drug discovery. Articles with timely relevance, scientific originality and newer research concepts are given preference.

Aims and Scope
The aim of the International Journal of Pharmacognosy (IJP) is to publish high-quality scientific work that contributes to the development of pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, natural product research, traditional medicine, herbal drug development and allied pharmaceutical sciences.
The journal welcomes manuscripts in the form of original research articles, review articles, mini-reviews, short communications, case reports, Ethics Forum, Education Forum and Letters to the Editor.
The scope of IJP includes, but is not limited to, pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, pharmacology, Ayurveda, natural product chemistry, agricultural sciences, biotechnology, biochemistry, botany, plant drug discovery, ethnopharmacology, traditional pharmacy, medicinal foods, herbal cell culture and plant biotechnology.
The journal covers natural products-related areas including pharmacognostic investigations, bioassay, structure-activity relationship studies, analytical methods, biological evaluation of crude extracts, essential oils and pure isolates, isolation and structural elucidation of natural products, quality control of herbal medicines, pharmacokinetics, toxicity and clinical studies of natural products and herbal medicines.
The journal encourages manuscripts with scientific originality, sound methodology, ethical compliance and relevance to current developments in pharmacognosy and natural product research.

Ownership and Management
The International Journal of Pharmacognosy (IJP) is an open access, peer-reviewed international journal published monthly in online and print formats. IJP is the official publication of the Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (SPSR).
The publisher and owner of IJP is the Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (SPSR), which holds responsibility for the journal’s policies, publication process and overall management.
The journal is managed by an Editorial Board consisting of experts in pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical sciences, natural products and related disciplines. The Editorial Board is supported by the Advisory Board and Editorial Office, which oversee manuscript processing, peer review, publication ethics, editorial decisions and journal operations.
Editorial decisions are based on scientific merit, originality, ethical compliance, reviewer comments and journal policy. Publication fees, subscriptions or other revenue sources do not influence editorial decisions.
Publication Frequency / Schedule
The International Journal of Pharmacognosy (IJP) is published monthly in both online and print formats.
The journal publishes 12 issues per year. Each issue includes peer-reviewed articles accepted after editorial screening, plagiarism checking, reviewer evaluation, revision, copyediting and final editorial approval.
The publication process is carried out online. Manuscripts accepted for publication are processed for copyediting, formatting and galley proof. The corresponding author is required to check and return the corrected proof within the specified time to avoid delay in publication.
