Objective: Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is a psychological disease with a growing global burden. Oxidative stress has been shown to be a causative mechanism of MDD. This research aimed to evaluate the effect of antioxidant-rich fruits (mango, carrots and watermelon) on oxidative stress markers in rats treated with Dexamethasone to induce depression. Method: Thirty (30) rats were grouped into 5: Group 1 (positive control), Group 2 (treated with 2.6 mg/kg body weight Dexamethasone only), Group 3 (treated with 2.6 mg/kg b.w. Dexamethasone and 10.53ml/kg b.w. of watermelon juice), Group 4 (treated with 2.6 mg/kg body weight Dexamethasone, and 10.53ml/kg b.w. of carrot and mango juice) and Group 5 (treated with Gingko Biloba). The lipid profile and C-reactive protein (CRP) were determined using blood samples. Brain homogenate was used to determine oxidative stress parameters SOD, GPx, GSH, MDA, and serotonin levels. Results: Results of the research showed a significant increase in HDL and a significant decrease in LDL, TAG and MDA levels in Group 4. A significant increase was observed...

Clinical studies have demonstrated the benefits of herbs and herbal oil for hair growth. The primary issues linked to hair loss include dandruff, hair fading, and hair falling out, which are issues that both men and women find quite concerning. There are some synthetic medications for hair loss which exhibit serious adverse effects in addition to not providing an effective cure. The primary goal of this work is to create a herbal hair oil formulation that can address hair loss and other hair-related issues. Herbs like Murraya koenigii, Lawsonia inermis, Azadirachta indica, Vitex negundo, Phyllanthus emblica, Centella asiatica, Hibiscus rosa sinensis cederwood oil and Rosmerry oil were selected for the formulations of hair fall control herbal hair...

Background: Diabetes mellitus, or simply diabetes, is a set of endocrine ailments characterized by persistently elevated blood sugar levels. Diabetes is caused by either the pancreas not making enough insulin or the body\’s cells becoming resistant to the hormone\’s effects. Thirst, polyuria, weight loss, and impaired eyesight are common indications of Diabetes. Combining herbal therapy seems to be beneficial in the treatment of type 2 diabetes and related issues. Aim: The goal of the current research was to formulate a polyherbal anti-diabetic formulation using Withania coagulans, Emblica officinalis, and Trigonella foenum-graecum. Method: Material like pulverized powder of Trigonella foenum-graecum Linn, Withania coagulans Dunal, and Emblica officinalis were used in the present study for phytochemical screening, tablet punching, and in-vitro study along with the flow properties of Polyherbal granules. Polyherbal tablets were used in the in-vitro antioxidant DPPH experiment and the in-vitro anti-diabetic effect was examined using alpha-amylase enzyme inhibitory activity. Result: The flow properties of the developed Polyherbal granules were remarkable. In an in-vitro investigation, polyherbal tablets were examined...

Background: Malnutrition in form of protein energy malnourishment, is a range of pathological conditions arising from coincident lack of protein and/or energy in varying proportions which can results in muscle wasting and degeneration. Aim: The study is aimed to investigate the effects of defatted Moringa oleifera seed on skeletal muscle of Protein Energy Malnourished rats and to assess its effect on enzyme markers: AST, ALT, Total protein, Albumin, Ca2+ ATPase and Na+/K+ ATPase. Methods: 16 white albino rats of waster strain (Rattus novergicus) were initially divided into ‘A’ and ‘B’ groups; Group A rats served as positive control and was administered normal growers’ feed while Group ‘B’ rats were administered with low protein based diet to induce muscle wasting for 21 days. After the period of malnourishment, group B was further divided into 3 groups: C, D, E. Group C was sacrificed which served as negative control while group D and E were fed with recovery diet containing 20% M. oleifera based diet and 20% fish meal based diet...

Leucas aspera (family-Lamiaceae) has great therapeutic significance in the Indian system of medicine due to its rich antioxidant activity. The main objective of the present work was to isolate the active constituent of ethanolic extract of Leucas aspera by column chromatography, Characterization of isolated compound by IR, 1H NMR, Mass spectroscopy and in-vitro anticancer activity evaluations against Hela, Hep G2 And MCF-7 Cell Lines by MTT assay. The EELA showed highest percentage of cell inhibition 64.18% in the concentration of 500 (µg/ml) on the HepG2 (Human liver cancer cell line) and significant activity than the HeLa & MCF-7. The present study concluded that the antioxidant potentials like flavonoids, saponins present in extract might be responsible for the anticancer...
