Moringa oleifera is a native of North India. It is found throughout the tropical region. The plant is used for medicinal and high nutritional purposes throughout India. However, there is no such type of work in the region of the Gulbarga district. So, the present study revealed that the nutritional analysis of fruit pulp of M. oleifera from Super Market of Gulbarga district, Karnataka, India. The proximate analysis estimations of moisture, dry matter, ash, crude fiber, crude protein, crude fat, carbohydrates, and mineral estimation were carried out by AOAC (2000), AAS, and other different parameters. The phytochemical tests of the fruit pulp have the highest amount of energy, carbohydrates, calcium, and potassium. Botanicals and herbal preparations for medicinal usage contain various types of bioactive compounds. The focus of this paper is on the analysis of bioactive compounds present in the Pisonea aculeata Linn. having anticancer activity involving the applications of chromatographic techniques such as TLC and column chromatography, Spectrophotometric techniques such as UV, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and EIMS spectral studies. The present investigation was carried out by fractionating the Methanolic extract of Pisonia aculeata (MPA) using benzene, diethyl ether, and ethyl acetate. Ethyl acetate fraction on concentration subjected to separation and purification on column chromatography. Fractions were collected & homogeneity was examined on TLC. A Fraction 77-90 on concentration yielded a pure yellowish homogeneous solid and gave dark green coloration with neutral ferric chloride and violet coloration with Molish’s reagent. The study investigated the antibacterial properties of the water and ethanolic extracts of the seed of alligator pepper on two bacterial species, Salmonella typhimurium and Escherichia coli, which are known human pathogens. The phytochemicals (alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, glycosides, and phytates) in the seed extracts were estimated. The organisms were obtained from the microbiology laboratory of Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The antibacterial activity of the different concentrations of the extract (5 mgml-1, 10 mgml-1, 20 mgml-1, 30 mgml-1 and 50 mgml-1) were evaluated against the test organisms. Also, the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) were determined. Results showed that both the water and ethanolic extracts of the seed of the plant had inhibitory effects on the test organisms. Statistical analysis (ANOVA) demonstrated no significant difference (P=0.05) in the inhibitory effects of the extracts and the control on the organisms. Arjuna is a well-known drug in Ayurveda. It is mainly used for heart disease, Obesity, and hemorrhagic disorders. It is used in various dosage form in Ayurveda such as powder, milk-based decoction, alcoholic fermented liquids, tablets, etc. Its bark is used for therapeutic purposes. Although it is widely available all over India, most of the time it is procured from the market; hence it needs to assure the quality of marketed Arjuna for standard quality formulations. Ayurvedic pharmacopeia of India (API) has given a monograph of Arjuna bark. So in this study, authentication, organoleptic, macroscopic, microscopic, and physicochemical analysis of a market sample of Arjuna was carried out. Organoleptic, macroscopic, microscopic studies have shown relatively similar characteristics as per standard. In physicochemical analysis, foreign (0.06%) matter was within normal range.
